Chicago Peace

Classification:  Hybrid Tea Rose
Sport of “Peace” rose

Discovered by Stanley Johnston, U.S.A., 1962
Average height:  4 ½ to 6 ½ feet
Petal count:  45 to 60
Fragrance:  Mild
Source:  Helpmefind.com

A “sport” is a mutation of the original rose which usually appears as a change in color from the original plant.  Chicago Peace is a sport of one of the most well known and loved roses of all time, “Peace”, which was hybridized in 1935.

Large pink blooms with slight yellow coloring at its base.  Definitely looks like a sibling of Peace but tends to bloom a little slower than the original.  Glossy leaves; good disease resistance. Huge blooms even in hot weather.
